Apprehension in the air

Trouble brews afresh
turning the blue skies red
sun sidles behind
the diaphanous haze
of disquietude
scared songbirds scatter
schizophrenically; portents of quietus
democracy and disease
stalk life. Angsty but dejected
youth look out for
a messiah to deliver
unaware of the saviour within.

In India omicron has been given a carte blanche with the decision to hold elections in five states in February and March. The virus is, as it is, going dizzy with delirium here because 1.38 billion people live cheek by jowl. We are a happy hunting ground for the Virona!

  1. Very well written Punam! It seems power and politics is more dear to those in power than human lives and safety. Thanks for joining in with this fantastic poem.

This says so much, very well said …the air of uncertainty and sadness is thick. You name it all clearly, it feels good to read.

      1. Perhaps distance helps, I do feel optimistic, and can see the resilience in people there from where I am sitting. It will turn for the better, one day at a time, one person at a time, one choice at a time. Sending you warm waves of gentle and powerful energies in support of all positive outcomes.

  3. Oh my goodness, you write so Beautifully and Powerfully of the worst of life, the world, Punam. Over and over you stir the passions…5-Star every time. Much love, and of course my fervent prayers always. Z💙

  4. The last line, ‘unaware of the saviour within’ sums it up. We have all the answers if only we looked within right 🙂 I hope the storm passes soon and the skies are back to their hopeful azure blue.
