Mercurial rain

Tippity toe, tippity toe
bringing forth joy as well as woe
moody, coy and capricious
seldom are you judicious
drowning castle or bleak hut
to your awry tune you strut
tippity toe, tippity toe
bringing forth joy as well as woe!

Tippity toe, tippity toe
bringing forth joy as well as woe
why do you show your wrath thus
can’t you pour without a fuss
sunburned grass and withered trees
sultry weather and no breeze
tippity toe, tippity toe
bringing forth joy as well as woe!

  1. As with all things, you captured the contradition with: bringing forth joy as well as woe! Rain is definitely fine but not too much rain (like the sun). Love the happy beat of: Tippity toe, tippity toe (I was singing this line).

  2. Ooh, you went double! Of course you did, Punam! You always nail the challenge 🙂 I love all the contrasting imagery in this. But no matter how much I tippetty toe around puddles, I always manage to step on that one loose paving slab that sends water shooting up my leg!! Still, I would welcome a bit of rain where I am right now, it’s scorchio! 😀 ❤

    1. Dear Punam,

I concur with Sunra Rainz, and I am impressed and like your rhyming poetry, in which you have excelled. Since I have been composing mainly rhyming poems, often with end rhymes, internal rhymes, alliterations, assonances, consonances, sibilances as well as rhythmic devices, syllabic schemes, musical patterns, and other subtle or overt features, I naturally notice and gravitate to such features. Hence, I have many good reasons to like your poem, including this one entitled “Mercurial rain“.

Like you, I am echoing your excellent poetry with a double poem to reciprocate graphically and poetically in response to your post as follows:

      Swirls of Gypsy Delight
      Usurp my Gothic Knight
      Reign not SoundEagle🦅’s Flight
For I seek thy Crested Might

      Pearls of Gnostic Wisdom
      Divine my Cosmic Germ
      Reign not SeaTurtle🐢’s Swim
For I seek thy Fluid Whim

You are welcome to savour my other poems.

Wishing you and Sunra a wonderfully productive August doing, enjoying or blogging whatever that satisfies you the most, including writing more poems for us!

      Yours sincerely,
      SoundEagle

      1. Dear SoundEagle, thank you so much for your fulsome praise. I too enjoy writing rhyming poems but sometimes I am lazy and at others the topic is such that I go with free verse.
Thank you also, for sharing your delightful monorhyme quatrains.
I will surely visit sometime soon. Wishing you a happy Sunday.

      2. Dear Punam,

You are very welcome! I am delighted by your reply, and would like you to know that you certainly have a good knack for writing excellent and engaging poems, and that is to be highly commended, regardless of whether they rhyme or not. As a reward for your friendliness and your penchant for appreciating the art of composing poems, I have something unusual and highly entertaining for you to enjoy, something containing advanced styling and multimedia components plus animations, so that you will be able to savour and relish all of the refined and glorious details plus animations, which are images and stories that are animated on their own. These are not videos but actual animations. You will realize very soon that my blog is unlike any other that you have ever visited. In addition, please turn on your finest speakers or headphones, as some of my posts and pages will be playing music to you automatically. A lot of the music presented is my own musical compositions.

For example, in my post entitled “If My Name Were Moon Tonight… with Clair de Lune 🌕“, you get the chance to watch my dynamic animation produced in high resolution (1920 x 1280) synchronized perfectly to Debussy’s Clair de Lune. The effects are going to be great on the large screen of your desktop or laptop. Moreover, you should be able to see that the entire post from top to bottom is full of eye-catching animations. However, if you view the post inside the WordPress Reader and not directly from my blog, you will see none of the animations and bespoke stylings, and there will be a great deal of missing contents. The difference is literally one between day and night.

This animation-intensive post is the result of my dramatic attempt to bring the Full Moon alive, so to speak, in the form of Music Animation with Dynamic Visualization presented in high definition and imbued with a scintillating full moon surrounded by eye-catching astronomical phenomena and stellar activities!

Moreover, the post contains a tetrapartite poem with twelve rhyming stanzas constituting my rhyming poem entitled “If My Name Were Moon Tonight…“. There is also the opportunity to savour my own rendition of “Clair de Lune” recorded on the organ. I look forward to interacting with you and reading your feedback at my said post.

I welcome your input and am curious to know what you make of my said post. Please enjoy!

Thank you once again for resonating with us through your poetry. It is a precious gift that you possess with charm.

        Yours sincerely,
        SoundEagle
