bringing forth joy as well as woe
moody, coy and capricious
seldom are you judicious
drowning castle or bleak hut
to your awry tune you strut

  2. As with all things, you captured the contradition with: bringing forth joy as well as woe! Rain is definitely fine but not too much rain (like the sun). Love the happy beat of: Tippity toe, tippity toe (I was singing this line).

  4. Ooh, you went double! Of course you did, Punam! You always nail the challenge 🙂 I love all the contrasting imagery in this. But no matter how much I tippetty toe around puddles, I always manage to step on that one loose paving slab that sends water shooting up my leg!! Still, I would welcome a bit of rain where I am right now, it’s scorchio! 😀 ❤

      I concur with Sunra Rainz, and I am impressed and like your rhyming poetry, in which you have excelled. Since I have been composing mainly rhyming poems, often with end rhymes, internal rhymes, alliterations, assonances, consonances, sibilances as well as rhythmic devices, syllabic schemes, musical patterns, and other subtle or overt features, I naturally notice and gravitate to such features. Hence, I have many good reasons to like your poem, including this one entitled “Mercurial rain“.

I am delighted by your reply, and would like you to know that you certainly have a good knack for writing excellent and engaging poems, and that is to be highly commended, regardless of whether they rhyme or not. As a reward for your friendliness and your penchant for appreciating the art of composing poems, I have something unusual and highly entertaining for you to enjoy, something containing advanced styling and multimedia components plus animations, so that you will be able to savour and relish all of the refined and glorious details plus animations, which are images and stories that are animated on their own. These are not videos but actual animations. You will realize very soon that my blog is unlike any other that you have ever visited. In addition, please turn on your finest speakers or headphones, as some of my posts and pages will be playing music to you automatically. A lot of the music presented is my own musical compositions.
