My fears

My fears lie to me everyday
their perfidious ploys
making me pusillanimous
from the hunter, I become the prey

I forget from naught we came
and to naught we go
in the circle of life
seasons bloom and fade

despair and hope move cyclically
with no concern for orderliness
I hear life calling out
I choose to disregard my fears.

  1. a true masterpiece, so full of wisdom and life!

Fear freezes us, life is for living and confronting the unknown as it arises, taking risks. You often expand my vocabulary, so glad to learn new words πŸ™‚

  2. Indeed, dear Punam. I love the visceral feeling of this piece’s exploration of fears as they arise, and then the counterpoint of disregarding such illusion, due to understanding. Beautiful. ❀️

  3. Fear freezes us and the way we think but we must overcome a lot of our actions in order to live the way we want. I also blog about poetry & things like this, feel to check it out! I loved reading this by the way, this was another great poem I have found within the last hour, enjoy your day !

  4. Nice poem here Friend. Two quotes that I like concerning fear are:

    Psalm 34:4
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears”.

    Philippians 4:13
” I can do all things through him who strengthens me”.

While we can try to do things on our own, God is able to help us in dealing with our fears. God is able to put things in order for us and to make things work out for our good. To overcome fear, we need to put God first. God is the king and there is nothing impossible for him to do.

If anyone reading is interested in building a relationship with God, I have a post on that here: https://christcenteredruminations.wordpress.com/2018/08/29/how-to-build-a-relationship-with-god/

There is much more to know about God. I post frequently on my blog about topics related to God. You are welcome to follow my blog to keep up with my content.

-All the best. May God bless you.
