One evening…

The waves tickled her toes

as she drew patterns

dancing in the white sand

the view at that time

breathtakingly spectacular

the golden orb

speckled with wispy clouds

sank behind the lush green hills

the ocean flushed a deep red

the shy crescent moon

high above, was biding its time

the spendthrift sky turned deeper

scattering twinkling stars

like errant kids all over

no contest to occupy any vantage point

the gentle lapping of waves grew louder

she reached for her favourite wine

sipping in the company of nature,

waiting, fantasizing …blushing beetroot red!

  1. Oh, how I love this scene Punam, if I tried to select my favourite part, I would be quoting the whole thing back to you. I feel like I relate to each. and. every. word! Like I am there; glowing beetroot! You are a gorgeous soul, thank you for this poem, it feels like a cosmic hug from a dear friend ❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️

  2. This reads like romantic Saturday evening(night) poetry that I read on a blunt Monday morning, it still makes an impact, glorious images and enticing ending.
