I am the cooling shower
To your raging fire
The calm sea
To your turbulent tsunami
An oasis of stability
To the shifting sands of your desert
The soothing, lilting lullaby
To your ear shattering rock music
The voice of rational reason
To your explosive emotions
The all embracing love
To your tumultuous passion
The quiet aftermath
To your tempestuous storm.
Know this
We may be different
But our acceptance and celebration
Of theses differences
With grace and candour
Make us unique.
Oh I love this! ❤️
Always amazing how opposites can complement each other perfectly.

Thank you so much dear Christine. 💕
Opposites can complement if we embrace the reality.

Sure, Punam, we may be different, but we can form something whole while putting together these slight differences!! 🙂

Punam, this is beautiful how nicely the opposites meet. It’s a like you were painting a picture of yin and yang with your words. 🙂 💕

I’m smiling away to myself here, I loved the ballads of the singer/songwriters, and she loved her loud heavy rock music 🎶

opposites do attract but its even more passionate when minds blend! I love your poem it speaks on a different level of consciousness to me this morning. the things I love about a person is so different from who I am, like fitting unsolved puzzle pieces. Accepting a person for who they are is important, I don’t want to ever change their essence , it is beautifully fragrant to me. how lovely that you feel the same way too.

So glad it resonates with you this morning! Our lives are made so much better when we come across like-minded people but we become truly enriched when we embrace and celebrate those who are unlike us. For that requires an effort on our part. They do enhance the meaning of life if we give up the notion of making them like us.
Indeed it brings a smile that you think so too.
Thank you so much Gina. Have a lovely day ahead.

you too my dear, your comment is a lovely extension of your poetry and your heart. embracing differences is never easy and can seem fake, but yes we must try as much as we can. we do learn from all these, life is a good teacher. so glad we connect!

I had replied to your comment earlier in the day but my phone has been acting up and the reply has disappeared. Embracing differences in the people we love is difficult because we try to change and mould them. If we love them because of the differences acceptance becomes easy. Life does try to teach a lot but at times some pupils need more time than others.
I am glad too for this connection, Gina.

I am probably totally non-pragmatic about this or an idealist but I think we should love a person for who they are not what we think we can make them become to suit us, it’s probably moot and I would lose the case but I would like to think I love generously. HAHA I know about those pupils indeed! Patience my friend!

Ah yes, patience is the key. I am like you…loving someone and then trying to change them? Not done.

So love the use of metaphors here as you balance the yin and yang of the relationship. Opposites do attract and when both parties accept and embrace them with such verve as you have penned, then they have to create the most beautiful bond. An awesome deliver of the prompts, my friend. 🙂
