The You in Me

I am mostly me

but a bit of you

always lingers in me

I can smell you

on my pillow

And the letters

you send me

I can feel your touch

on my cheek

And your whispers

in my ears

When I am

in a crowded room

I see your mocking smile

When I am all alone

you stand yonder

watching me lazily

You are the

beat in my heart

The song

on my lip

Everywhere I go

Everything I do

The you in me

Refuses to leave me alone.

  1. Sigh… this is what making that deep connection does to us. We fall in love and then in the absence of touch that special one lives within the beats of our hearts. How beautiful you’ve penned this slow waltz to the rhythm of the heart. I also love how you’ve included all the senses for love lives within each one. Okay, will stop babbling now πŸ™‚
