Persuasion

The bitter tempest smashed against the window
hissing and pushing all night
tossing up things like straw
driving the lonely moon away

The faint morn treads in softly
the trees at the bend in the path
dressed in glorious greenery
persuade to enjoy and join their dance.

Written for Sadje’s wdys and Jane’s random word poetry.

(In the early hours today we had thunderstorm and rain bringing respite from brutal heat.)

  1. Yes, it was such a glorious morning, Punam. Made me so happy; at the same time sad to see so many trees uprooted. Was worried for the birds, other outdoor animals and humans without shelter too.

So i stopped worrying and prayed for their well being. 🙂

Loved waking up to the furious rain. Our 15th floor rattled and shook like it would come down. Lol!!
I skipped yoga and overslept like a contented child.

Your writing is balm to my soul. ❤

  2. Great that you received the relief. Summer is killing but the evening weather seems to be joyful windy though I pray for this air daily. 😀 could feel the thunderstorm and delight of freshness from your words. In love with your poetry.
