The blues

I dressed my blues prettily

and sent it out for fresh air

but it looked pensive in pink

standing all alone

where once blossoms bloomed

an empty bench,

(where loneliness sat alone)

invited it for company

but it trudged back home

lodging deep down inside me

content to curl quietly

dripping drop by drop,

painting my pained soul

I am learning to live with it

too tired to look for metaphors

I delve deep, cladding myself
in the darkest hue

revelling in the pleasures of darkness

bottling and imprisoning light

for it hurts my eyes and blinds me

blackness envelopes me comfortingly.

"you revel in pleasures of darkness
bottling and imprisoning light"

      1. My pleasure sweetheart. It is just magnificent. Punam if I did not reply to some of your comments is because my Jetpack got somehow disconnected from my site! It’s fixed now but I lost some comments. I don’t want you to think that I ignore you. I love you sweetheart and I wish you a wonderful week ahead 🤗🌸🙏💕🌿

  2. You certainly did dress these blues prettily with your words, I felt a need to curl up within them, especially these lines

“an empty bench, where loneliness sat alone,
    invited it for company
    but it trudged back home”

I’d like to keep this loneliness company please. I hope you weren’t feeling the blues sweet friend. Big hugs to you. I loved this poem, so much ❤️❤️

    1. Ahhh! I lie curled up with them pretty often these days! No, not very blue, but often I find my sunny disposition giving me a slip. Thank you so much for showing so much love to this verse and for your hugs. They did drive away the blues. ❤️❤️
