Battle lines

Her dark eyes flash

she clenches her jaw

the air is heavy with silence

I sense a war brewing

it sends a delicious tingle down my spine

it always augurs well

when the battle lines are drawn

peace is joyously celebrated,

sensory and longer lasting

than when she withdraws into self

and is remote like an island.

      1. My pleasure. YOU are so talented πŸ™‚ I remember one of my first comments on your poetry. I said “your poetry is beautiful” You replied (to the best of my recollection) “Haha! I write mediocre poetry” My answer was “No, you don’t”
I was right. Your poetry is beautiful πŸ™‚

  1. Best to let it out than keep it in for inner wars oft times leave no victor… I love the atmosphere and confidence in this piece… she certainly seems fierce and one who enjoys defending her lines. Surely a reflection of the poetess πŸ™‚ ❀
