The gullible crowd cheered energetically
They knew not they were being taken for a ride
They clapped and whistled and stomped their feet
The fools didn’t realise that their leader had lied.
Same scenario to be seen everywhere
Narrow parochial views triumphing all over
Leaders stooping to conquer by stoking fears
In a bid to reign supreme and takeover.
The much vaunted rule of the people
Loftily heralded as democracy
And a cure to all that plagues our nations
Is actually nothing but the tyranny of majority.
“Is actually nothing but the tyranny of majority.” Or is it the tyranny of the wealthy minority?

Well, it maybe so in rich nations but in poor or developing nations it is the tyranny of poor majority.

A great post!! But I have the same question that Fandango raises, is it the tyranny majority or the tyranny of ‘wealthy minority”?

Thank you. 😊
As I have already stated in my answer to Fandango, in most nations it is the ‘tyranny of poor majority’.
