Val of A Different Perspective is running the End of Summer Scavenger Hunt, where we have to write 13 poems in August in the prescribed form on the given topics.
11. Harrisham on Forgiving
I forgive you
Every midnight I take your harsh words and fold them neatly
yearning for when I won’t have to tuck them away from sight under my pillow
gone are the days when nary a harsh word passed your lips, for you loved so deeply
each day, despite everything, I still start afresh pushing aside these feelings so low
how difficult it is to be divine to be able to forgive and forget completely
well! I do it not for you, but for my own peace of mind, you know!
