Surrounded by swirling snarls and sounds,
with cacophonous chaos clicking around
the humming, the thrumming, the buzzing and the bustling
recede into nothingness with pages unfurling
In the throbbing omphalos I sit with a book, budhha-like
drinking delicious words with my eyes
finding my cosy space, losing myself in the maze
and I am at home, at any location or any place.

Awesome take Punam. I just finished writing mine and the idea is the same, though yours is so beautifully expressed.

Yes! Agreed, Punam! That is also where I’m most at home, between the pages 🙂 I love how you become buddha-like whilst noise and chaos go on all around you ❤

So many of us enjoy being alone while dancing in our minds. That is no surprise. 😉

So true, Punam. I have traveled through time and space in books.
I love all the sounds in this poem, too.

I love the thought, but it has been such a long time since I managed to lose myself in a book.

I know, these days it is not easy to find time yo immerse oneself in a book.

This gorgeous poem perfectly describes my high school years… my nose was always in a book! I got eyestrain and my first pair of glasses from reading by the street light after lights out. I love this poem, Punam. ❤
