Celebrating kindred spirits

Pic courtesy Mashable

When I read your words and there is a surge of awe
and that overwhelming feeling of dismay at my own ineptness
threatens to push me off the precipice
then your gentle persuasive encouragement
pulls me back from the ledge
pushing me to try to better myself

When your keen eye unerringly zeroes in
on the nuance couched in my ordinary words
I try to convey my delight through emojis at hand
your warmth crocheted in caring comments
wraps my heart in a virtual embrace

When you open for me a window into your world
giving me a glimpse into the unseen and unknown
I travel the world from the cushy comfort of my home
savouring sounds and sights; sensory delights
heart all a tingle with a satisfied smile

When your verses full of vivacity and verve
jauntily hold my hand and pull into your world
you infuse my thoughts and lighten my heart with your quirky smile
that I espy twinkling in each line and stanza
I then feel light as a bird and soar with your words
and never have I felt that you are miles away.

Written for dVerse poetics. Today I am the host and we are paying tribute to blogger friends. Come join us.

I have borrowed a line from Kate’s post.

A shoutout to all blogger friends who have stood by me through my erratic schedule. I may not return to regular blogging till sometime in April.

  1. I love that your poem is a celebration of kindred spirits, Punam, whiwch applies not only to personal friends but also to our circle of poet friends. You have captured in the first stanza that lack of confidence that so many of us have felt and the positivity that comes from another person’s ‘caring comments’.

  2. A really lovely poem that is reflective of the friendship and in so being, ends up offering back to this special person, the same-same you have been gifted throughout the years. How wonderful. And thanks for hosting the prompt.

  8. Your words truly capture the beauty and power of connection that can be found through writing and sharing our thoughts with others. It’s wonderful to see how your blogger friends have had such a positive impact on your life. The way you’ve described feeling a surge of awe and delight from your friends’ writing is truly beautiful.

It’s heartwarming to see how the encouragement and care shown by your blogger friends can lift you up and inspire you to be better. Your description of traveling the world and experiencing new things through your friends’ words is a testament to the power of writing and the connections, even though it is virtual, that can be formed through it.

It’s truly amazing how, even though we may be physically far apart, we can find common ground and mean through our writing. Your ability to convey your emotions and experiences so vividly is a gift, and it’s clear that your writing has touched and impacted many, including your blogger friends you are responding to.

Overall, the poem serves as a touching reminder of the importance of supportive and inspiring friendships, even if they exist solely in the virtual world of blogging.
