Giving thanks

Winter’s indulgence
indulgence of life’s transience
transient tastes triumph

triumphant nature
nature’s gifts reaped together
to gather to toast

toast, waffles and jam
jampacked is family do
doing mother’s will

Written for Sadje’s wdys, Eugi’s moonwashed musings weekly prompt and David’s W3 (a chain verse of at least 3 haiku including the word mother, by Aishwarya). Sharing at dVerse OLN.

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate.

  1. How beautifully unique! (somehow I managed to turn off my blog comments, unable to access the posts for your wonderful challenge, now I must return, read and leave comments .. well deserved I am certain.)

  2. Rushed seasons add speed
The frost on top adds worry
    Fir trees lift their arms

    And new food arrives
    For chickadees are hungry
    Still squirrel eats last

    Snow is melting now
    Exposing green grass beneath
    Tulips wait their turn

  3. I really liked the style that you chose of three haikus. I don’t think I’ve seen that yet, but it’s effectively powerful. Thank you so much for sharing, and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

  4. Either Mother’s will or MIL’s will… 😉 The Family Glue?
…Just last eve out to dinner – one whole contingent should have just stayed home (as one was ill and didn’t even eat)… but the ‘Mother’ got what she wanted. (I was just observing…again – as a mother myself there really isn’t much I demand of my own – now that they are grown.)

      1. Once past the ‘Teen’ bits, then we can be friends with our ‘chillens’ 😉

Sometimes though adult children need to stand up for themselves. 🙂

      2. I remember the first few times I had to quit jobs because I didn’t agree with my ‘bosses’ –
Not easy, especially when the boss has a big ego.
