Night drama

From Unsplash

Finally the darkness descended
but was pallid from tension
hidden in its sheer bosom
a column of secrets lay
quietly. Wilily waiting
for the dramatic moment
to spill animus.

the orange dawn sighed wearily
as it cleared the debris
of the quarrelsome night.

Written for David’s W3 for AJ’s prompt and for the moon washed weekly challenge.

  1. Just a note to say – Wow! I’m continually impressed with how many prompts you get put into one creation, and yet, always reads as if not planned at all, but rather as if the flow of words couldn’t exist in any other way.. ❤

  2. lol I can see Roy’s influence in many of your poems now … difficult to read her and not absorb some of her style 🙂

… do wish all quarrels would vanish each dawn 🙂

    1. You are very kind, sis but I doubt my writing is influenced by hers. I read her debut novel the year it came out…in twenty five years I have forgotten every thing about the book except the fact that I have read it. But I must admit there are many other Indian writers who do inspire me. 🙂
Perhaps most of us from the subcontinent use the English language similarly because of our schooling. 🙂

Won’t it be great if it happened! ❤️

    1. Hi Vignesh! So good to see you after a long time! How have you been? Have you posted something?
I am well, Vignesh, but my schedule is a bit erratic these days, thus the delayed response.
Thanks a lot for reading and commenting. 🙂
