We were two points
journeying in linear lines
our planes intersected
changing the course of direction!
Though the plan was to run parallel happily
life keeps changing shapes and relative distance
so now, sometimes we run in concentric circles
at others we are diametrically opposite!
We have run the entire gamut from being right angled to obtuse
encompassing various degrees of latitude
thankfully, we have struck balance and now
we exist peacefully venn diagrammed!

Oh my dear friend Punam. What a treat this poem was to come to on my foray to your blog – the math of marriage indeed. How are you doing? Iโve missed you and our double hearts โค๏ธโค๏ธ

My dearest Rachel, I can’t describe how happy I am to see you here!! I am fine. I was on a break for sometime during August-September. Now I am in the thick of October poetry writing month.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I have missed reading your beautiful verses, our conversations through comments and the double hearts of course! โค๏ธโค๏ธ
I do hope you are doing well. And that you will foray into reading and writing more often.
Thanks so much, dear heart. โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐ค

Aww honey, I need to come back here more often. To be honest, life just got away on me for a while there but I am feeling a bit better these days – partly due to a new addition to the family, my puppy called Hazel. She is such a source of joy. How is the COVID situation for you now? And, everything? โค๏ธโค๏ธ

I so miss you! But life did get away with most of us. Good to know you are better now. Congratulations on the new addition! Give a huge hug to Hazel. The kids must be delighted!
The covid situation was bad last month. The numbers are coming down, but with a number of festivals now till mid November, it can go back to being bad. I am avoiding going out as much as I can.
You all are in a much better situation, I am sure. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Please take care of yourself gorgeous friend. Iโm sorry to hear it was bad last month… we had a resurgence in Auckland about 6-8 weeks ago and they had to go back to lockdown (Iโm not from Auckland). We have improved since but are not out of the woods…
I absolutely will give Hazel a hug from you – lucky puppy, a hug all the way from India, from a beautiful and gentle soul like you. She is curled up beside me right now, and she rolled on her back for a tummy scratch when she heard the hug was from you โค๏ธโค๏ธ

A brilliant poem, Punam! You’ve captured the essence of the journey of marriage in “geometric” terms. ๐
