The mystic moon

Shining in borrowed finery

glowing like a crystal ball

in her bosom she hides lovers’ secrets

knowing too well their destiny

she sighs as the night draws to an end

a signal for her to fade away

the lord of the day was about to ascend

the giver of light, in whose

reflection she glowed and basked

the keeper of secrets had a secret of her own

yearning to embrace the love of her life.

Written for Eugenia’s and Kate’s prompts.
