Her life

The silent scream of brakes

reverberated jarringly within

her resilience put to test

as her handle wobbled trying

to maintain the momentum

her past stellar glory, now just a myth

though she had not many years to show

but a few untimely, dare-devil knocks

hampered her freestyle fluidity forever

the perception that she was useless

was now an open secret

relegated to doing odd jobs around

she considers herself awfully lucky at present

and in her unbiased opinion

she is better off in loving, gentle, older hands

she is resilient but cannot forget

those reckless, inexperienced, young hands

that found speeding disgustingly delicious

making her shudder,

I never want that again!”

  1. I wrote and posted one, just one for each prompt. One for The Bicycle on my Starlightandmoonbeams site. I’ll do one for Eugenia soon. I can’t even begin to imagine doing so many at one time. It’s amazing! Congratulations 💜💐 You have more than four prompts there WOW!

    1. I will read yours soon, Jen!
I have become lazy lately…from writing a post everyday without a fail, I moved on to only weekdays and now I post just twice or thrice a week. So I try to weave in as many prompts as I can! 😅 Sometimes the posts are just okay, sometimes pretty okay! 😉 So I really appreciate your comment. 😊 Thank you so much, dear. 💙🌷

      1. You’re welcome Punam 😊 I get that but it’s too confusing for me. I’m sticking to one at a time. Stay frosty! That is, take care of yourself.

  2. reminds me of primary school days and having to write about the life of an object, I can feel her longing and nostalgia so well written in your story poem Punam

  4. This was amazing, Punam! Beautiful imagery and great description of looking back at our youth and the risks we took before the older years slowed us down and made us wiser. ❣️

  5. This bicycle sounds so much like me! I love how you’ve given voice to the wisdom of maturity and the nostalgia of youth from an unlikely source. And weaving in the prompts to add the greatness! ❤️

    1. Thank you so much, Andrew. Thank you for taking out time to read and comment. You know you don’t really have to do that! You can do all the reading after April. Till then take good care of yourself.
