Distant evanescent lightning
imparts a faint blush glow to the room
I am faced with the prospect of being alone in the dark
as mom and pop are away
losing track of time, I am plagued
by dangerous thoughts
banishing them away, I stay brave
I don’t want to go anywhere
history repeats itself, they say
I sit on my bed waiting
for the very social Goldilock’s arrival
‘cos I don’t believe the rumours about her.

i don’t want to go anywhere was the most mysterious part of this tale

Lol Gina! The ‘dangerous thoughts’ took me to a very dark place. So, I rewrote keeping in mind Eugenia’s prompt ‘blush’.

I could have gone that way too, some words have the power to inspire darkly! but you know how to pack a punch with every one you use.

So they do, Gina! Perhaps in near future I will take that path. Thank you so much.

Love this and like talk about leveling UP! This is like level ten! Lol. I do love the mystery that you invoke in this with the parents and Goldilocks back stories alluded to but not clearly stated. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

Haha! Would verbs be allowed?

Well, I guess that would depend on just how hard a challenge you wanted it to be! 😆

Oh how I love this! What a twist with the dangerous thoughts plug. The bear contemplating that maybe the rumored tales of Goldilocks aren’t true.

I am delighted you enjoyed it, Pallavi! Yes, just a twist to keep it intriguing. Thank you so much.

Nice to think that Goldilocks could be seen in a social light. Latch key children (or little bears) often can let fears escalate. 🙂
