The swollen, serpentine stream was in spate
babbling and burbling it moved at a rapid pace
the vibrant, verdant valley with vantage views
was resplendent in efflorescence of myriad hues
a carnival of fragrance blew in the air
the plump, pregnant raindrops plopped without a care
the canopy of leaves feebly pierced by chords of light
the cicadas played a symphony, and all was right.
Beautiful poem!👏

This is beyond beautiful. I could place myself at that flooding river where light barely penetrated the canopy of leaves. How tranquil you have described the forest in monsoon. Btw, love the word ‘spate’ – it’s not commonly used and it’s refreshing.

The monsoon has been kinder this year and afforded me a chance to glimpse the beauty of forests enhanced by its showers. Thank you so much for the appreciation. ❤️

I am so happy to hear that. It is a blessing, indeed, when nature permits us those glimpses into her beauty. You are kindly welcome 🙂

My faves: “carnival of fragrance” and “chords of light”…as usual, you’ve crafted an exquisite piece.

Oops! No, you are not complaining but I get the message! Just one more tonight, then the rainy season will be over on this blog. Promise. 🙂
(By the way, this deluge of words on rain are for Rachel ❤️❤️)
