Clouds agitate in the sky
it is the edge of summer
and their ominous rumbling
is a gesture to monsoon
to take centre stage
sun takes a backseat
as nature pulls the plug.

We sometimes get monsoons out on the Colorado plains at the end of summer. Still waiting for this year’s to hit if there is to be one.

Punam! I feel the atmospheric pressure in your words, willing those rains to come, your entire poem gesturing to them. I can only imagine the drenching feeling of the monsoon, the entire earth giving way to it. The release of some electrical charge that has been mounting. I can’t wait to read what you write once those rains start ❤️❤️

Thanks a lot, dear. The rains are already here, Rachel. It was a late and slow start and though we have still not had a good thoroughly drenching rainy day here, we have had sufficient rains. I will surely share more on rains. ❤️❤️

Here the rain is mostly warm, except during winters!
