Moving on

Messing with my mind

your thoughts would fog my brain

your hold was so strong

that sham of a relationship

which was a creepy failure

held me captive oh so long

when I thought of you

I would tear up inconsolably

believing in your arms I did belong

finally I have put all that behind

you can mess with me no more

am moving ahead with just me along.

  1. This is such a powerful poem and I love the strength that emanates from this! Definitely something I can identify with, as it’s always disappointing to accept the end of something we thought would last forever. In the end, we move on and see it’s for the best. πŸ™‚

      1. You are very welcome, Punam! What you say is so true. Sometimes the heart wants what reality is saying we must let go of. A very tough battle to fight. πŸ™‚
