I sit still as I scout oblivion
silhouetted against the horizon
no answers come forth
and this nothingness
shapes the hollow in my heart
I switch my gaze closer home
to upturned question marks
lurking all around
broken, I willingly drown in your
disconcertingly clear eyes
only to be rescued
on the edge of tears
which pool into the hollow to heal
the passage from eternity to now
is wrought with timeless passion
I love this oblivion.
Yes, oblivion can cocoon and protect, for a while 😢 Well written Punam 🙂💕

Your words, Punam, make it

It sure is! Thank you so much, Rachel. ❤️❤️
I read your lovely post last night but was unable to comment. When I tried again a while ago, I received this..’user cannot view this post’! It is frustrating!! I will try again later. ❤️

Awww that is so sweet! I took down the poem not too long after I posted it… it’s a weird feeling to describe, but it’s almost like stage fright. I get it sometimes after posting poems! ❤️❤️

I can understand that but it was beautiful…the way you described the sunset…
Ah, well! I am happy that I read it. ❤️❤️

the upturned question marks keep you hooked to this poem, and also the oblivion

Oh, am I glad I used that phrase! By the way, is the ‘you’ the reader or the writer?

‘you’ is the one addressed 🙂

Okayyyy! Why didn’t I think of that!! 😂
The ‘you’ may be hooked to the upturned question marks but the writer is hooked to oblivion.🙂

I love how this poem about oblivion isn’t oblivious to the obvious – love as a respite from worries. Is that the right observation? 😉

I missed this one, Irma and it would not be amiss to reply to it, however late.
Your observation is spot on, my dear! 😀❤️
