Thoughts on thoughts

Thoughts as flimsy and frivolous as an excuse

escape my mind and to lend them more gravity

I use ponderous (not pedantic) words

words that try to stun but never to stem the flow

for thoughts need their flight of fancy

I cannot add to the drag with worthless words

thoughts need their moment too

moment of glory not a firewall

to hide them in obscure words

or protect them from pickled dragons

drunk on their fiery capabilities to destroy

I dress them in arcane, engaging words

so that they can occupy centre stage.
