Dystopian reality

Dystopian’s dreams dominate reality

collide and crash creating cacophony

squalor and hunger gnaw blistered heels

festering wounds, a sumptuous lay for the twisted

gaunt faces and dead eyes scream voicelessly

silence echoes like deafening thunder

nothing shocks, for distorting truth is common.

  1. You have such breadth and talent in your writing. I love this:
β€œsqualor and hunger gnaw blistered heels
festering wounds, a sumptuous lay for the twisted”
    This dystopian world, Punam.

      1. You are so entirely right – and that’s part of what makes meaningful social change so difficult. Versatility as a writer shows true talent, and that’s what you consistently show. ❀️❀️

      2. I agree about meaningful social change being so difficult to bring about, but one tries every now and then!
If it were possible, I would be turning the deepest shade of beetroot at your generous praise…I write about things as I see them. πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈβ€οΈ

      3. I’m sure you could make beetroot sound becoming with a few of your beautiful words to describe it πŸ˜‚. Absolutely, we should all try… And you do a great job of it ❀️❀️

  3. voiceless screams, silent echoes like deafening thunder, summarise the theme so well. distorted truth can only be dealt with patience, and perseverance

  4. Really enjoyed the dark imagery and the alliteration. Distorting truth has been around as long as there has been humans on this planet made even more prevalent by modern technology.

      1. It’s true, we become complacent or indifferent… You’re welcome, Punam and you nailed it – no need for self doubt!
