  1. Punam, this is hitting so many nails on the head – a brilliantly crafted poem, about a deeply worrying and concerning state of… the world. I love the lines about rose-tinted glasses covering jaundiced eyes. If only those eyes could go outside and properly see what is happening right in front of them. I feel so deeply concerned about things happening in our world. This is an incredible poem. I hope itโ€™s published, it should be! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿงก

    1. You are right…it is a very worrying state of affairs. I try not to talk about politics and religion as these are contentious issues. But then, one has to speak about issues close to heart. Thank you so much, Rachel, the encouragement of my friends here means a lot. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

  2. Ah, the rise of nationalism… we all know where that lead in the early 20th century. Democracies have become places for tyrants and old men oppress anyone who wishes for change. Aptly and perfectly written, Punam.

  3. We need a stronger opposition and better options for leader in our country. The media and politicians who keep the nation stuck in religion, casteism and lunatic narratives needs to change. We need to be focused on development and canvassing for votes should come from there. We are a secular nation for Godโ€™s sake! We are all Indians and that should be the parameter of our recognition. What religion we choose to follow must be irrelevant.
Anyway, this is all but wishful thinking. But it feels good to vent.

  4. Your words ring so true!! Those glasses need to be ripped off…I hope people start seeing the truth soon. I fear so much what the future holds as your right, this isnโ€™t just happening in the USA but all over the world.
