They are my lovely angels
often driving me crazy
I love them dearly
except at times, I wish they’d disappear
I am filled with motherly pride, mostly
though I admit, I feel like disowning them
I am a stickler for rules
but sometimes let it slide
occasionally we are on different pages
yet belong to the same book
life is not hunky-dory always
thankfully the bitterness doesn’t linger long
I know I started on the right foot
so I am gonna finish alright!
A feeling like no other, regardless.
Happy mother’s day to us. We deserve a medal.

Oh Punam! Lovely sentiments here – I especially like the lines about being on different pages but still in the same book. As my kids get older and have their own opinions, that line really resonated with me. Happy Mother’s Day, dear friend! 💐💐

Happy Mother’s Day to you too, Irma.💐 Yes, as they grow older, they don’t like being foisted with our opinions! 🙄
Thank you. 😊

That sounds more like it. 🙂 The child’s perspective yesterday. The mother’s perspective today. And love both days.

As a daughter I am ever grateful to my mom, as a mom I am still learning the ropes! Glad you enjoyed both the perspectives. Thank you, Tracy. 🙂❤️

I like how this poem alternates lines of love and frustration, but how even in the frustration, love prevails!! Motherhood is such an intense occupation. This is beautiful ❤️
