The half empty bottle of vitriol
that you left on my shelf
when you left
I take a sip from it everyday
the days, as a result, become palatable
but the nights need
something stronger
so I drink a cocktail of vitriol and torment
sometimes I add a dash of despair
and always garnish it with pity
but sadly it is still not potent enough
to knock me out
the hangover leaves me
crying out your name in anguish.
Oh God. This is some powerful! Wow! How true. May I Reblog it Punam?

Hangover cure is something more potent. Probably a dose of sunshine is called for. This is a remarkable piece. Like the mixology.

It sure is potent! Thanks a lot Gina. I enjoyed creating the mixology.

That big dose of rocket fuel will make for a big hangover! I hope the remedy is equally as powerful!

Haha! Still looking for the remedy. Maybe I will take up Gina’s suggestion of a dose of sunshine. 😀

Yes. Do you think the hangover was worth it? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t… Great poem ❤️

No, totally not worth it. But sometimes it is difficult to tame thoughts. Thanks a lot, dear. ❤️

Absolutely. Sometimes short term oblivion is the only answer, even if you suffer because of it afterwards… ❤️

Thank you Satyen. I am glad you found our banter entertaining. Yes, vitriol means sulphuric acid also and criticism can be as corrosive!

The cocktail of the spurned lover? So delectably concocted that one doesn’t care about the forewarning of the hangover and the sniveling anguish
