Estrangement

His sudden arrival

at my door instigated

a flood of memories

some sweet but mostly bitter

we just stared

at each other wordlessly

each immersed in a

cauldron of criticism

before unleashing

a barrage of accusations

as I shed copious amount of tears

he stood helplessly wavering, hesitant

and the moment of reconciliation

passed forever.

  1. Old wounds and missed opportunity… how well you have penned this, Punam. And, as usual, a wonderful use of the prompts.
