The high priest sat on a high hill
Humility’s halo highlighting his demeanour
Pontificating about the evils that ail the world
The neophyte turned acolyte sat at his feet
Enamoured by his insights, imbibing all
Honoured to be the recipient of deep discourse
Feeling blessed for a glimpse of nirvana
But when he saw his guru hobnobing in private
With those who he had publicly decried
He lost his religion and his faith
And now, swears by none but the devil.
WOW Punam. Such power in this. I love it. Can relate

You just perfectly created a picture of what’s happening inside and within most of our religious organizations now adays….from where i am..we used to really look up to the clergies but with the outbreak of some of their colleagues getting involve in rape, child abuse..and all other similar cases…things are becoming more different…faith is slowly crambling down..
Though i must personally say that…we should not allow this situation to question our faith..

Thank you so much Mich for the detailed response. I totally agree with you, most religious organizations are facing this. I also agree, it should not affect our faith.

So well said, Punam. Many do not practice what they preach. I’ve seen this so many times over the years) with organized religion. And, religions have long had to battle wars within. I think of Christianity and the 30,000 plus denominations and I think: here’s a religion that has completely lost it’s way. I think you’ve made a great point. Excellent, as usual.

Thank you kindly. I feel most of us are frustrated with the ways of organized religion.
