After those heady days in the beginning
Yeah! Those of the dancing on air kinds!
Landed on ground face first
For there is no easing into a fight.
I still remember the shock and pain
I just can’t recall why we argued at all!
We were two mature adults
Yet fell into the usual trap
Of assumptions and presumptions
Of mind reading
Always expecting the other to be a step ahead
But the underlying love
Never wavered nor doubted
As our yin and yang
Tried to match steps with the other.
Now after all these years
We still sometimes fall through the cracks
But the bond which makes us a whole
Seeps into those cracks
Sometimes papering over them
Most times filling them
Adding substance to our separate flaws.
We are two imperfect beings
Fitting into each other beautifully
Apart we wither,
Together we bloom, thorns and all.
Day 11: Falling through the cracks
nice, positive take on the prompt!

The image of a rose blooming from a crack (possibly on the ground) is as beautiful as it is compelling. Loved this one, especially the final statement. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you kindly Gina. When you want something to work, you do try hard, sometimes it pays, sometimes it doesn’t.

i try and do not want to work in vain but sometimes i have my head in the clouds I need to be tougher I guess

Tougher and may be kinder to your self. Everything cannot be fixed every time. It helps to accept that and make do with what we have in abundance.

yes that sounds good advice, i guess i know all this but some days are tougher than others but i know it will pass

It will surely pass dear Gina. Happiness is bound to touch your shores, it cannot bypass you. 🤗

frankly I am a realist – romance, happiness, joy its all fiction, I seldom speak bluntly because its hurtful to others. but life is just a pit stop, just do our best and don’t be too hopeful, just enough to get by, be kind, be generous those are the joys in life.

And that is good enough Gina. Being kind and generous brings immense happiness. It may not last long but as long as it is there, life is beautiful.
Just chatting here fills me with enough warmth to sail through the day!
And tomorrow will take care of itself:)
