The road to love is very slippery
If you are not careful
You can slip-slide away
Attraction is often mistaken for it
Making a misery of life.
Infatuation is like an uninvited guest
Where your feelings may not be reciprocated
So, tread on this road carefully, my friend
If you have a fragile heart
Better you not venture on it.
But if you have a heart that is robust
Fearlessly embark on this road
A fall here, a fall there and a stumble
Will make life truly a worthwhile ride.
So true and really like the lines on the robust heart π

Such wisdom in these lines and another wonderful use of the prompts, my friend.

I think from tomorrow onwards I will put a disclaimer in my posts, in response to prompts; if the poem is any good, I’ll take the credit, if it is not, I’ll blame the prompts! π
Thank you so much. βΊοΈ

Oh, I could never fit into your shoes literally and figuratively π So, let’s do this side by side on that same path through life, just on different continents π

Though your remark about fitting into shoes is debatable, we will do so on some other day. βΊοΈ

Never an expert but I have seen many a hearts break. Some bounce back, some don’t.
But this was a lighthearted take keeping in mind the prompts. βΊοΈ
Whereas what you have written seems to be coming from an expert, in these days of social media. π

let me take a bow, in the context of social media.. instead of being humble like you. bouncy hearts are definitely great assets, especially if you planning the road trip.

You should take a bow!
Hearts are much maligned for their fragility, they are quite resilient and they all want to take the road trip.
Humble… no. Matter of fact… yes.

thats a great attitude, I will gladly agree with your take on what the heart wants! a matter-of-fact expert then.

“Robust” is a wonderful word to associate with a heart.
The road to love can indeed be slippery. I very much agree with that.

It is, isn’t it? It gives up on us only when it’s time is up otherwise happily endures all we put it through.
Thank you so much.
