Leap of Faith

The redolent air fills my senses

Sharpens my longing

For the bygone days

The past beckons

With beguiling memories

If only, stepping back was easy!

I stand hesitating

The future looks daunting

But has to be met

My fears, I know, are baseless

Without any substance

Yet have the power to arrest me

It is a leap of faith that I have to take

So I shut the door behind me firmly

And move ahead.

  1. This is so lovely, Punam…so true that bygone times beckon; a friend and I were talking about how much simpler it was when there was no cable TV–just 3 channels, no cost, and they all went off by midnight! And maybe cell/mobile phones are convenient, but they seem to steal a lot of time and intimacy (just my opinion) 🙂

  2. Yes yes yes–we must be strong, take courage, and if not “leap”…then, tiptoe across the threshold 🙂
