She was called an ice maiden
The frigid one
For she rebuffed all advances
Declined all invitations
Refused to go out
Or be a part of a clique.
They sniggered behind her back
Calling her all sorts of names
Seething at her refusal
Their egos all bashed up
Raging at her defiance
Thinking of ways to humiliate her.
They stooped to casting aspersions
On her character
Snidly hinting at her sexual proclivity
Not once getting it
That she was just not
Interested.
I started writing something similar, but gave up. You did it far better.
And no doubt had this character slept with somebody, she’d have been labelled a slut.

Thank you so much Matt. Yes, she would have been. Though I wonder what is worst, being considered frigid or a slut?

I think they are as bad as each other. Whom somebody wants to sleep with is their own business (sometimes in more ways than one).

Nicely presented.. it’s simply so difficult for the world to get the simplest ideas simply… Turning simplicity into complexity.. same feelings here too.. loved it… πππππππ……..

Thank you dear. Somehow these days simplicity is underrated and complexity valued more.

Great piece; I particularly enjoyed the way you concluded. Direct, but not clumsy or lazy.
