Invisible

Get up at the crack of dawn
Rush
Prepare breakfast, pack lunch
Rush
Drop kids, give medicine to the elderly
Rush
Finish chores around the house
Rush
Pay bills and answer mails
Rush
Pick kids, help with their projects
Rush
Do grocery shopping
Rush
Feed the elderly
Rush
Ask after the spouse’s day
Rush
Prepare dinner
Rush
Get the elderly and kids fed and ready for bed
Rush
Clear up kitchen
Rush
Lay out things for the next day
Before finally calling it a day.

Did anybody ask how my day was?
Does anybody care how I am?
I am invisible you see.
I am supposed to get things running smoothly
But do it quietly
Without expecting any acknowledgement.
