Limericks are supposed to be humourous and sometimes obscene, this one is anything but.

I was told pain, loss, heartbreak and rejections

Were perfect conditions to incubate poetic aspirations.

But I find when my heart wants to sing

The poems that flow from the ink

Are the ones that strike a chord and receive citations.
