After a rather long and tiring evening

I looked out of my window

(As is my wont)

Before calling it a day.

I saw my mango tree

Swaying gently in the breeze.

I caught my breath as I beheld

The crescent moon cradled

In a branch.

It seemed as if

The zephyr was singing

A lullaby to the baby moon.

The star spangled sky was a canopy above

And the lush green leaves made a bed so soft.

So I went to bed with a smile on my face

And a song in my heart

For the sight of the branch

Nestling the moon

Had singularly lifted my mood.
